As We Grow, What Remains?

PUBLIC ART

As We Grow, What Remains? is a collage composed from a collection of photographs, illustrations, visual ephemera, and textures collected from downtown Kitchener and combined with personal image archives. The artwork was created by The Observatory, a collaboration between myself and visual artist Nicole Beno, to explore visual storytelling in public spaces throughout Kitchener Waterloo. Through curiosity, improvisation, and experiments with materials and technology, The Observatory investigates how visual ephemera create markers of memory.
